a nighttime view of Tower Bridge, London

Welcome! Thank you so much for joining me on this little virtual journey. Would you like some hot tea before we begin?

Sit down; get cozy and comfortable in front of your computer.

For the duration of May 2010, I traveled on a study abroad trip to England and Ireland. I observed and learned a few things about international travel and would like to share them.

I suppose it would be only fair for me to reveal a few things about myself before you trust me to guide you through...

My name is Julie Unger and I am a second-year graduate student at the University of Florida. I went on an airplane for the first time at 5-years-old, and at 25-years-old, I took my first trip out of the United States. I am very familiar with traveling, but had never traveled with a large group before.

This page and those directly related are for a class called Survey of Electronic Publishing. For this class, I will use the micro-blogging community known as Twitter, in addition to coding this entire website by hand (or rather, by keyboard).

Please feel free to wander around, learn from my experiences and hopefully be entertained. Today's descent down the rabbit hole will visually take you to England and Ireland with some of my favorite pictures from the trip.
